Glistening in the effulgent rays, Bluest of gleaming blues. Lays the coin of which I set a wish, To return in a year, with a love that's true.
We met that night at its waters edge. As we each watched the moon light play On the blue waters and it's coins You asked me for my name, and a meeting the next day.
With a thumping heart, I said "yes!" Your hair dark but your eyes bright Brighter than those water pools. And it was there we agreed to meet at light.
The next morning I waited by the fountain, With hope and nerves I waited for you. But there you left me by its waters, The colour of your eyes, the same haunting blue.
It was with tears I noticed then. My coin was gone its place left bare Knowing my wish would never come true, I gave up the wish that someone would care.
