I grabbed the familar thick heavy branch that hung above my head. Hoisting myself up into my usual position, ready to watch the same usual thing... But it wasn't usual, well not to me. Ten years of watching it almost every day and it still wasn't usual. Maybe it was me, that was just unusual, but however many times I watched the sun go down, it still fasinated me. The thought of watching the darkness slowly devower the land gave me a quiet thrill, one that could make my hair stand on end. So much i could just barely make out my hand in front of my face. My heart began to quicken, the few drops of moisture escaping the dark clouds. The flash of white lights followed, bluntly lightening the land for all to see. The rain poured thick and fast. I bit my lip to prevent myself from rejoicing at the presure drop. I'd never been one for hot weather. I stared out upon the sky, calculating the next flash by the thunderous roar that consumed the area. That wad until screams from the base of the truck pulled me from my trance. I glared down to the base of the tree, but the rushing air that filled my eyes stopped me from seeing what laid below. Only the red stains showed through. Then it hit me. The foul coppery scent of blood...
