Today it struck me, something so horrible, so stereotypical. As far as I am aware there are no books with dragons starring in them that are set in the present day (I apologise if this is wrong). That led me to write this.

2054 July 18: Launch 505 Ten Nine Eight Seven Six Five Four Three Two One Blast off. The world is watching as Launch 505 is finally sent on her maiden voyage into space. She is the newest and most high tech rocket every built. The 5DHDTVSuroundSound speakers continued to blare on as the news reporter described the lives of each of the astronaughts. Saaci rolled his eyes, how much more of this was there? He glanced out the window, a rocket whizzed past, exploding without a sound or tremor, or without them for Saaci. Silently machine guns blasted, phasers zapped and energy balls zoomed. All the others were outside playing. Saaci sighed to himself, wishing that he could be out there with them.

2069 December 25: Doomsday Heavy fire all round. No soft shock absorbing house this time. Saaci was in the middle of it. One leg caught under a broken HCIII not a single one of his brothers in arms ran forward to help him. They thought he was dead. He wished he was dead. Another roar, louder this time, it was getting closer. The sound vibrated through his head leaving him with a devastating pain. He cried out. "Out there, someone's alive". "Private Hathway go get him". "Sir, yes sir". Private Hathway broke cover and ran to Saaci. "It's ok, I'm gonna get you out". He spoke soothingly as he cut away the HCIII. He lifted Saaci to his feet and supported him as they began to slowly move back to cover. The roar came again, Saaci dropped to the floor in terror. Only a moment later a laser beam, so powerful it could not be of this world, flashed through we're he was standing. Private Hathway was not so lucky. The beam ripped him into shreds, his last words dieing on his lips, unheard, unspoken. Saaci turned to gaze upon the bearer of this new weapon. Over 200 meters away, a laser cannon strapped to his head, there was dragon. Hung in the air, suspended by powerful wings. The cannon muzzle glowed. It was firing again...

Reading this back it doesn't seem finished. If you want another chapter like and comment any ideas you have. Sorry about the old last line @crowncottage told me it wasn't very nice(completely true).
