I stared at the coffin I had made for 'Him', the coffin 'He' now lay in. I barely moved from my seat, barely breathed. A cold tear ran down my cheek but I quickly wiped it away. The flash backs of the day 'He' died invaded my head. The story of how the death had happen, played back in my head,

"Jim!" I screamed, tears streaming down my face. I stumbled through the crowd of people, trying to get to the front line "Jim! Where are you?" I shouted again wiping the tears off my face. I climbed over the metal gate and ran towards the front barrier. Jim was standing at the front, proudly in his best suit, waving to the people walking down the street. His eye caught mine and he beamed even more. I sighed in relief, waving back and walking towards him. I hadn't been to late. Jim was safe. "We better get back to the bridge if we want a good sleeping spot." I said taking his arm and smiling. He nodded in agreement. As I climbed back over the gate, I saw Jim give one last wave to the parade and start to follow me. I began to walk again but a loud bang stopped me going any further. Suddenly a swarm of people began running my way, knocking me off my feet. A kind boy with a soft face offered a hand but was suddenly pushed away. I got up quickly and ran away from the parade, not daring to look back. I picked up my dress and hurried faster towards the bridge. I heard the faint screams of other people running in fear. I scurried along the dusty path and slid down the grass bank and under the bridge. My heavy breathing soon slowed and all you could hear was the soft sound of trickling water. The noise of pebbles crunching echoed in the bridge. "Jim?" I asked softly "Jim is that you?" I walked slowly out of the darkness and into the sunset light. I heard a groan and watched a man with a bottle of liquid, most likely alcohol, fall down the bank. I backed away and grabbed my suitcase, which had been hiding in a secret compartment in the wall. I walked backwards using the wall to steady myself. When I was soon out of sight I ran back towards the town. I searched the town street for any signs of unwanted people, but there was nothing. Unless they were hiding. "Jim? Jim are you there?" I whispered. I stepped carefully in the almost dark street. I could faintly see the flowers that were scattered on the road, for where the parade had once been. There was nothing there, apart from the fear that had been left behind after the bang. I was about to turn away when something stopped me. A tall slim body lay still on the ground. The body looked a lot like Jim's. I but my bottom lip in hope that it wasn't Jim. I walked quickly over to the body. My face went pale in terror and fright and pain. My gasp soon broke into heavy cries. "Jim! Oh Jim, I'm so sorry… so sorry!" I sobbed into his cold chest. I lay down by his side and closed my eyes, feeling the tears trickle down my cheeks. I felt for his hand. I felt the roughness of paper as I touched his chest. I sat up and saw that there was a piece of paper. Jim was clutching it tightly. It read:

I'm Here In Your Heart

I held the piece of paper tightly in my coat pocket. I swallowed the lump in my throat and held back the tears. "I'll find who did this Jim." I whispered. I stared at the coffin and then looked around. No one was here. No one even knew Jim or me, apart from the other homeless and orphans. We were orphans who lived under the bridge. I picked up my dress and walked away heading for the bridge. All the streets and lanes were full of people playing games and having fun. No one even knew that Jim had died. They didn't care.
