Part 1 *•*•*•*•
"Kiss me." He said "What?" I said shocked. "Kiss me." His warm hands wrapped around my waist. I placed my hands on his cheeks and leaned towards his lips. I could feel his breath on my face, but a sudden rustle of trees made him pull back. "Go! Go to the harbour and just get out of here!" His voice was full of panic and urgency. "Where? How?" I trembled not wanting to imagine my life without him. "Anywhere! However you can! Just make sure you don't get caught!" He began walking away when I grabbed him by the arm. "What about you? I can't leave you! And I won't!" He took my hand and placed something cold inside. A wolfs howl echoed through the forest. "Where will you go?" I asked terrified "Anywhere but I can't go with you! Now go!" The edges of his lips twitched but he was soon gone. I put the cold object in my dress pocket and stood alone, watching the snowflakes fall from the sky.
By the time I had reached the harbour the snow had turned to rain and no one was in sight. My eyes scanned the area and they stopped at a small ship. I heard faint shouting and I saw someone looking through a telescope. He appeared to be looking in my direction. I ran towards the ship but I saw the man shouting at his crew. The ship began to move, further and further away from the island. "Wait!" I screamed from the top of my lungs "Wait!" I jumped into the water and started to swim towards the ship. I heard someone shout "leave her! She's one of them!" A thick rope fell over the side of the board. I grabbed it quickly and pulled myself up. When I reached the top, a pair of cold hands helped me onto deck. His hair was a dark brown and was dripping wet. He had soft blue eyes. The man I had seen with the telescope lunged himself at me with a knife in his hand. "No!" The blue eyed boy said knocking the knife out his hand. "You'll address me by captain!" He spat "and I told you not to let her on board." "She could of drowned!" He shouted back. "Yeah your right," the captain laughed "I'm mean she's only a girl what harm could she do on this ship? She's a girl!" I heard the rest of the crew snigger at his remark. The captain walked away and began talking to the man at the helm. "Throw the knife." The boy said handing it to me "Are you kidding?!" I protested "he'll kill me!" "No, he won't," the boy said "he will just know that your not to be messed with." "What if I miss?" I asked "What if you don't? Just try and hit his hat." The boy walked away. I looked at the knife in my hand. I held the blade and then without thinking I threw it towards the captain hitting his hat. I watched it fall to the ground. The captain spun round, picked up his hat, and walked towards me. "What do you think your doing?!" He shouted Butterfly's filled my stomach and I could feel my hands sweat "…I-I'm not… I'm not just a girl!" I said broadly "I see that I'm the only girl on this ship and that means you think we're weak and useless! But I'm sure there are some thing's we can do that you so wish you could, but can't!" "Excuse me!" The captain snapped "lock her up!" "Yes, sir." "Aye captain." Two men grabbed me and forcefully took me below deck. They threw me in the cell and gave out an evil cackle. I lay there in the corner, listening to the sound of crashing waves and orders being given. The sound of footsteps became louder and louder until the blue eyed boy appeared. "I'm sorry for not standing up for you earlier." He said kneeling next to the gate I smiled "No I don't mind, I'd rather be here than be with him." "How come you were still on the island when we were leaving?" He asked "everyone who hadn't been caught, had left yesterday or this morning…" "I was hiding… in the forest…" I whispered "But you know that's where they were most likely to be hiding, you could of been killed," the boy urged "were you on your own?" I could feel my face go blank. "Er…" I began when a loud clambering noise interrupted me "You… cabin boy… whatever your name is your needed on deck! And the captain would like to speak to the girl…" the crew member soon disappeared "Hey wait," I said as the boy stood up "what is your name?" "Callum." He smiled and then went up on deck.
As the captain came down the stairs he got out a set of keys. He unlocked the cell door. "I have realised I acted unfairly. I had seen you on the island before always with some boy, I know you never meant any harm," the captain sounded different "we'll be stopping soon on another island but this time it'll be cold, just to warn you and they may have been here too, so look out." For a moment the captain look worried as he said 'they'. No one even knows who 'they' are. They come at night and in the morning people have gone. Disappeared. For weeks people have been trying to get off the island and only until a few days ago did ships turn up in the harbour. But I had been hiding in the woods. With him. Alex. I felt something cold in my pocket. I lifted it up and saw that it was a silver bracelet covered with charms. I put it back in my pocket and went up on deck.
