~ sorry this chapter is so late, so I made it quite long, please comment and like and tell me if I could do anything to improve. Thank you~
I turned sharply at the sound of a scream. I ran back inside and found Reece and Maya huddled together behind the sofa. "What?!" I almost shouted "What happened?!" Reece reached out his finger, and pointed towards dads bedroom door. "Someone came through the window and left something…" his voice trailed off and he hugged Maya tighter. I walked gradually towards dads door. My heart missed a beat as my foot landed on something, that made me slip. My hand gripped the window sill, that was next to me, and I could see my finger tips whitening. Once I'd gotten my balance back, I leant down and picked up the thing I had just slipped on. It was a small note, engraved on one side, in extremely neat writing was
Alyssa Sharpe
I was curious to how the writer of this note knew my name. I unfolded it carefully and read the note
Alyssa, They're coming for you. They're going to do to you, what they did to your mother. You have to get out of here. Anywhere but please go!
I stared at the note, losing track of reality and flying through my own little world. "Alyssa, you've been standing there for ten minutes, what's wrong?" Dads voice rang through my ears, I turned round with a huge smile on my face. "Dad?!" I screamed, but my happiness and enthusiasm soon faded as the voice I had heard had only been my imagination. There was no one there. I then remembered the note that was still in my shivering hands. I shoved it into my pocket and went to find my siblings.
Later that day, while we were all in the kitchen, I thought I started to hear laughing or a better word would be cackling. I looked out the small window and I could see the forest surrounding our little cabin. But then out of the corner of my eye I saw something on fire. The fire then started to appear as a group. I then realised what was happening. I grabbed the note out of my pocket and read it over again. "Reece, Maya," I said breaking the silence "Go to your room, don't ask why just go and barricade yourself in there, move everything in front of the door. Go!" They looked at me with frightened expressions but they did as I asked and ran upstairs. At this point I had no idea what I was going to do. I ran to the door but as I was about to lock it, the door flew open hitting my whole body and forcing me backwards and onto the ground. The light around me darkened and disappeared and a shooting pain scorched through me but that soon disappeared too. I soon found the strength to sit up but my eye focus was blurry and grey. All I remember next is my head hitting something hard and rough.
As I breathed in sharply I began to sit up, soon noticing my arm was numb, and falling back down again. A coldness on my neck gave me a shock and my eyes widened in pain. As my eyes adjusted, I soon realised my right arm was different and unable to move. A long line went from my t-shirt sleeve to my wrist. The line was a crimson colour and at some points along my arm the wound deepened. Somehow the wound was sealed. Using my left arm, I heaved my self up onto the sofa to get a better look. But as I was doing so, something out of the corner of my eye glistened. I got up steadily and walked over into the kitchen. It was glass. Broken. Shattered. As I looked all around the kitchen I noticed that all the cupboard doors were open, or in some cases off the hinges. The insides of the cupboards were bare. Nothing but the oak wood they were made from. Everything in the kitchen had gone, food, drinks. Everything.
