Adam smiled and kissed me quickly before slipping off to his brothers room. Lucy smiled at me like a proud mother. 'right,' she grinned 'go have a shower, so that I can make you even more beautiful.' It felt like a had millions of butterflies in my stomach that had burst free of their cocoons and were excitedly learning how to use their new wings. When I got out of the shower I quickly dried myself and slipped into my new white underwear, I flung the hotels white dressing gown on and quickly sat down as Lucy turned the hair dryer on, she had slipped into her ivy green dress and black heels and had left her hair in it's loose curls. While she was drying and styling my hair, my mum slipped in smiling, she had a small box in her hands. 'oh Abby.' she sighed 'you already look so beautiful and you haven't even got your dress on yet.' I smiled back at her. Lucy curled my hair, pinning sone of it up. Then she put some pale pink eyeshadow on, and a nude lipstick, saying she was going for a minimal look. Then they both helped me put my dress on without smudging my makeup or unraveling my hair. They both gasped when we finally got the dress to sit properly on me, it was a pure white dress with a sweetheart neckline, it was fitted on my body and then twisted by my waist and fell to the floor. I had plain white heels on under the dress. Mum looked at me, her eyes were starting to fill with unshed tears. She handed me the box and said shakily 'I want you to have these, I wore them on my wedding day.' inside where beautiful diamond earrings and a simple silver necklace. This time it was my eyes that filled with unshed tears, Lucy dashed up to me carefully dabbing at my eyes, while my mum fastened the necklace round my neck and I put on my earrings. They both stood back admiring their work. We heard a knock at the door and Lucy went to open it, she peered round and said playfully 'no you can't come in, don't you know that you shouldn't see your bride until you are at the alter,' I heard Adam laugh and my heart skipped a beat, when I thought that the next time I see him will be when we are being married. My dad bustled in quickly and stopped to hug me. 'you look beautiful, Adam sure is a lucky man.' he said his voice cracking as a lone tear slipped down his face. 'come on,' Lucy cried, 'we are going to be late.' she squealed excitedly.
I stood behind the heavy wooden doors at the church and I heard the priest telling everyone to stand, and the bridal march began to play. The butterflies finally mastered their wings and flew off in a million different directions but i felt calm.
