My dad snuck up behind me and took my arm, 'ready?' he said, eyes glittering. I nodded, the doors opened and everyone turned to look at me, I could already see my mum dabbing at her eyes. Adam stood at the end of the aisle, he was beaming at me, which made me want to run to him. When we reached Adam my dad placed my hand in Adams and smiled warmly at us. The ceremony passed quickly and Adam and I both teared up at the 'I do' part. As we were all leaving the church, Adams dad walked up to us and hugged us both. 'that was a beautiful service, you both look lovely.' he smiled proudly at Adam. 'where is mum?' Adam asked lightly. 'umm, well she hasn't been feeling well... Terrible migraine, she said to send you her love.' Adams dad replied sheepishly. I saw a look of hurt flash across Adams face. I gave his hand a squeeze, he smiled back not letting his mum ruin our day. When we arrived at the manor house where we were all having dinner, numerous friends and distant relatives came up to us offering their congratulations and commenting on how lovely we looked. After dinner it was time for the speeches, Alex, as Adams best man stood up first, 'I just want to say that we all wish you two a lifetime of happiness, but also that well done brother, Abby is mighty fine!' he grinned winking at me. Adam looked down at the table laughing and shaking his head, 'and it started off so well.' he whispered to me, I giggled, as Adams dad pulled Alex back to his seat. After dinner everybody dispersed onto the dance floor. Then Adam took my hand and lead me to the middle of the dance floor, I suddenly realized that we had forgotten to pick the song for our first dance, I quickly whispered this in Adams ear. 'you may have forgotten, but I didn't.' he whispered back. Then my all time favorite song came on, 'Louis Armstrong- What a Wonderful World' Adam wrapped his arms around my waist and we swayed gently, my eyes filled up with tears, I had known that this was the song that I had wanted since I was a child. I wrapped my arms around Adams neck and kissed him, he broke the kiss and whispered 'words can't even describe how much I love you.' When people started to leave Adam and I slipped away to our room, before we went in Adam picked me up, and placed me on the bed, kissing me urgently. I pushed him away lightly and asked. 'were you nervous?' 'Abby, I only get nervous about things I might live to regret.' and with that I pulled his lips back to mine.
