For the first week that Adam was away, I just wandered around my room, spending every second of the day thinking about if Adam was ok. Lucy had made me move back in with her, until Adam came back because she was worried about me, I was losing weight and constantly had worry lines etched on my forehead. I got the letter ten days after they had left. Lucy handed it to me when she came back from breakfast along with a plate of food that she desperately tries to get me to eat. I tore open the letter, leaving the abandoned plate of food at the end of my bed. As I pulled out the letter, I recognized Adams familiar handwriting. I read it and then read it again, then I hugged it to my chest and sighed in relief,' he's ok...he's ok.' Lucy smiled and hugged me, 'thats great Abby, now can you please eat something.' she grinned, prying the letter from me and setting it on the bedside table. I conformed and began to slowly eat my breakfast. A week later Lucy had got me back to eating properly, she also got me to come outside on occasion, but I was still pining for Adam. It was two and a half weeks since he had left when I woke up to Lucy retching, I felt the similar unease in my stomach and darted into the toilet, she saw me and moved as I was sick into the toilet, 'uggh look at us.' she smiled while pushing her hair out of her clammy face. 'theres a tummy bug going round, we must of caught it.' she grimaced. Feeling a bit better I trailed back to bed and tried to sleep it off. It took me three more days of throwing up only in the morning to realize that it might not be a stomach bug. I quickly dressed, to go and get a test. Lucy looked at me as if I was mad as she usually had to drag me out kicking and screaming. I jogged to the shop and grabbed a test, and a bottle of water, on the way back I drunk the whole bottle. I crashed through the door and ran into the toilet, I slammed the door and ripped the test out. Lucy started banging on the door 'Abby...Abby are you ok?' she said. 'in five minutes we will know' I whispered. I did everything the test asked and put the cap on it, I stood by the sink for what felt like the longest five minutes of my life. When it was time I flipped over and screamed out, Lucy barged through the door thinking I was hurt. I jumped up and down and hugged her tightly, she hugged me back and said 'what...what's happened?' she asked sounding panicked. 'I'm...I'm pregnant!' I squealed, showing her the pink line that confirmed it.
