I sat bolt upright in my bed, Adam rising quickly. 'what's wrong.' he whispered. 'shhh' I said quietly, I took his hand and placed it flat against the right bottom of my bump. I smiled and whispered 'can you feel that?' he nodded his eyes shiny from tears. Deep inside me our little girl was moving and kicking out gently. My bump was now only slightly smaller than a football and with only two months to go Adam and I were getting very excited at the prospect of finally meeting our beautiful daughter. Amelie slowly stopped kicking and we both lay back down, Adam kept his hand on my tummy the whole night.
'what do you think about this one?' Adam asked. We had been looking for a house just an hour away from base where we could raise Amelie. 'hmm I'm not sure this is the one.' I said, arching my back, 'do you need to sit down.' Adam asked quickly pulling out a chair. My back was suffering from the pregnancy. I gladly sat down, relieved to take the weight off my aching feet. 'we can go home now if you want.' Adam said concerned for my welfare. 'no I'm fine, we've only got one more to look at anyway.' I said barely keeping the exhaustion out of my voice. 'come on then, I saved the best until last.' he said excitedly, pulling me up.
We stopped outside a beautiful Victorian house. It was double fronted with large bay windows, and the front was mainly covered in a beautiful green vine. 'oh..' I exhaled 'do you like it?' Adam beamed. 'I love it, but we can't afford it.' I sighed sadly. Adam grinned at me cheekily, 'I knew you'd love it so...' he said pulling out a set of keys and waving them in front of me, attached to them was a keyring with the first baby scan in it. 'how did you afford it?' I exclaimed reaching for the keys. 'dad helped me out.' he confessed. I leapt out of the car, achey back and feet forgotten. I raced up to the front door followed closely by Adam. Once inside I raced around the bottom floor, everything was freshly decorated and the rooms still smelled of paint, there was two living rooms at the front of the house, the sun flooded through the bay windows, bathing the room in a rich golden glow. There was a modern kitchen overlooking the huge expanse of garden. Upstairs there were four bedrooms, two with fully fitted ensuites and a huge bathroom. 'everything has been decorated and fitted.' Adam smiled, 'all that's left is to move in all our furniture.' he grinned. 'you're amazing.' I said trying to kiss him, but not being able to due to my large stomach. Adam chuckled and bent down to kiss me, with the warm afternoon sun surrounding us in light.
