Posidon groaned. He was faintly aware that he had been hit by something large, and that he was pinned against something cold and hard. The ground, he thought. It was the icy ground pressed against his back. It was the icy ground pressed- he realized his thoughts were going in a circle. He feebly pushed at the chunk of ice on his chest, stomach and legs. He couldn't breathe, he couldn't breathe- The tremors were stopping. Hades checked his pulse. He stood up. "He's unconscious, and that's going to get worse unless we get this ice off him. He'll probably freeze to death before he suffocates."
Nyx was the strongest person there. She grabbed onto the edge and strained. She felt the shards of ice pierce her fingers. She fell backwards as a piece of the ice broke off in her hands.
Hecate had been walking quietly around the ice. She had found it. The fire fang case in his pocket. It had been knocked out. The fang was from an infant Cronus, and it was locked in a case made of metal. She gingerly pulled it out. The blue ashes stuck to her hand, and the fang was still a bit hot. It steamed as it touched the freezing air. She winced as her hands turned red. She drove the eight inch fang into the ice, and it shattered. Posidon awoke to the sound of shattering ice. Hades pulled him to his feet. We need to find the other Cronus fang." He said. They kept walking. Nyx fell. She was sliding toward the drop off. "Nyx!!!!!" Screamed Hecate. Posidon ran, trying futilely to reach her. Hades stood, a condemned look on his face. Aphrodite screamed. Hermes looked at her sadly, and threw her the Cronus fang. Nyx caught the fang with her fingertips. She didnt cry. Crying wouldn't save her life.
She watched her friends fade into the distance. The dropoff came into view, and she felt anger as she saw the searing marks in the beautiful ice. She held the fang at the ready as she went over.
"WHY DIDNT YOU TRY TO SAVE HER, HADES?" Screamed Aphrodite. "There was nothing to do. Over the edge is Cronus territory. She has to try to find her way out of Hellspace on her own." Hades said.
