The group dashed over to a few nearby boulders. They pressed up against them. This one was big. As in monstrous. It's fangs were as long as a treetrunk, although only Posidon had been brave enough to steal a glance. The Cronus let out a soft his as it glided toward them.
Hecate, suprisingly, was the first to attack. She held out her palm, and a little ball of light the size of a walnut appeared. The Cronus slithered closer. At the last second, she threw it. It burst, and stuck to its fangs. The Cronus roared as its fangs turned into white light, and turned into a sphere the same size as the last one. It flew up into the sky, seeming to be drawn toward the stars.
Posidon focused his mind on the forest, mentally scanning the leaves, ground, crevices, for any water. He felt the forest resisting him. Please, he thought. WoodSprite, I just need a drop. He felt the forest let go. The tiny speck of water flew toward the Cronus, gathering moisture from the air and becoming bigger. Bigger. The grass started to shrivel. Bigger. The water in the blood wells lowered. Bigger. The blob of water was the size of the Cronus. It splashed against it. There was a steaming noise, and the air filled with water vapor. As soon as the air cleared, Nyx looked around for the Cronus. There was nothing but a chunk of metal a few feet to her left.
She tapped it. It was freezing. The heart. She covered it in leaves and dirt. Even if it had been evil, it had been far wiser then any Fae or human.
The band silently turned, and walked toward the tree of The Lady Of the Willow-Path. It was time to go back. The Earths were waiting.
But when they got to the willow, they found it burned and charred. Smoldering leaves lay in piles. The Cronus had been here. Aphrodite bent down and picked up a tiny leaf. She pocketed it. "This is wrong." Muttered Hades. " It may have been a bit impish, but you could tell. That Dryad had lived for eons. Possibly before humans." Nyx nodded. It was clear. They would have to fight the Cronuses. And they needed an army.
