Cats. Nyx felt a bit jipped. The sprite had said cats. These were monsters. Each was four feet long and a grey-brown, with golden eyes. They hissed and snarled, and then sprang. The largest one sprang at Hades. He quickly jumped to the side. The cat whirled around and clawed his side fiercely. Hades looked down and felt his stomach turn. His blood was black. The cats paw was being singed by his blood. Ugly red sores appeared, and the cat whimpered and ran into the haven of the trees. Acid blood. The two smallest cats leaped at Nyx. She picked up a 17 foot long tree limb and held it at the ready. Aphrodite thought she was going to whack the cats, but when they got near to her, she trapped them under the branch. By now, the other cats were retreating. They knew they couldn't fight off these intruders. Hermes turned and glared at the WoodSprite. "You tried to kill us." He muttered, his eyes darkening. "You pathetic little sprite!" He suddenly flew toward her, pulling a small knife he had gotten from the abandoned house out of his pocket. He pinned the sprite up against the tree. She looked at him reproachfully. "I tried to warn you. My forest needs me. It won't let you take me." "Hermes," Posidon uttered calmingly, stepping toward him. "MY NAME IS CAMERON!!!!!" he yelled, madness burning in his face. "CAMERON BROSEY! I CAN'T DO THIS ANYMORE!!! LIVING WITHOUT NORMALITY OR ANY HUMANS, for GODS SAKE!!!!!" he yelled, and held the knife under the Sprite's throat. She looked at him sadly. There was a soft rustling in the underbrush. Slowly, dozens of snakes slithered out, toward him. The others all stepped back. "Now, little imp." Hissed Hermes. "I'm going to enjoy cutting your throa-" he was cut off as the first snake sank its fangs into his ankle. He let out a bloodcurdling scream, as dozens of snakes slithered up his legs. None were biting anymore, there was no need. He tried to fight them off, but the weight of the scaly reptiles was overpowering him. He fell to the ground, and was swept away by the sea of snakes. Slowly, the creatures all disappeared, leaving only the usual sounds of the forest. The sprite looked a bit forlornly at them. She spoke no words, the meaning was heard. The group of five trudged back toward the entrance of the forest.
As soon as they left the ShadowSpace, Hecate began to become more solid. Nyx was a bit tired, but otherwise unaffected by the sun. "I can't believe that. He was always so quiet and kind." Muttered Aphrodite. "There's something called potential energy. It's sort of like a bomb. No kinetic energy until you light the fuse. It was going to happen sooner or later." Murmured Posidon. Just then, the air began to shimmer. The light of the sun became brighter and more red, and the Earth began to shake. "Of course." Hissed Nyx. "A Cronus in FaeEdge."
