It's amazing what kind of people can be found in the world today. More astonishing still is the type of people who can't be found in the world anymore. Of course, the normal explanation for the missing traits is evolution, fads dying out, and saying that things like them were pure fantasy, that they never were able to be found anywhere, and they never would be. And a few precious times, these things were true.
But more often, far to often, these ideas are wrong.
The traits are missing because Darksun took them. Darksun is not human. They never were human. But they are nearly impossible to spot because they look human. Never resting, ever changing. Thankfully, sometimes it is possible to spot, because it almost always has fair hair and coal black eyes, void of all light, all hope, all emotion. People say you could look into its steely orbs and lose themselves. Literally. They would not be able to think, speak, or move. And their eyes always faded into the same dark, starless gap as Darksun had been in for the milenia it had been around.
He had, most likely, a higher purpose, maybe several. But the only one that humans could catch on to was to destroy, to pull any source of light or happiness into his abyss. Notice, that most people in life never meet someone who fills them with joy at a glance, who can dissolve all of their problems with a mere gaze. Whose very being radiated light. By no means were these people perfect, but they were like stars, glinting and glowing and stabbing pinpoint holes through the darkness. If you have been lucky enough to encounter a starbeing, find them again. Do what ever it takes, find them and warn them about Darksun. For it never rests, and it is meticulously moving toward a starbeing, even now. Then you must run, and hope that the starbeing lives. For there is nothing you can do. If you are not fast enough getting away, you will feel Darksuns cold gaze on you and you will be lost to the void. Darksun uses his gaze on humans only. Starbeings have a worse fate waiting for them. It will turn them into part of it's shadow, doomed to forever be inches away from the light, always screaming noiselessly to run. Watching countless victims taken.
Remember, Darksun is the enemy of life and death. It is not heaven or hell. It is not flame or ice.
It is oblivion.
