Clinging

Standing at the gates of freedom
Reach a hand to the sky,
I take it back; it's denied
So close, yet so, so far
But I don't close my eyes
Not believing their lies
Twisted and torn,
The truth's been perverted
I let out a sigh
Still my hopes are high...

I'm walking in shallow waters
And the thorns, they're sharp
I can't see them; it's dark
Since sunshine has drifted away
And the blue skies are gone
Seems the blackness has won
And I can't seem to find my way
And so they pierce me
I'm fighting back fiercely...

They say that there once was a light
That streched far and wide
And the demon would hide
Some say that the light still exists
But the demons returned
And the evil is worse
Question marks, anger sparks
Confusion protrudes
Since my thoughts were abused

I'm pushin my way through the marshes
Slowly starts to rain
Crying from the pain
Mud is thick, and it's getting deeper
Moving gets harder
Problems grow larger
Thunder clashes, faith turns to ashes
Which way to turn
Without getting burned

Here I am! Can't you see me?
Prove that beliveing
Is not all decieving
I see dry land on the horizon
And so now I swim
If I'm lucky I'll win
Up above, there goes down a storm
But it's inside my heart
Where the colds really formed
Wind lashes across my face
Just a few feet now
I'll be reaching dry ground
Holding on, I'm gonna make it
And I ramble on
Won't stop being strong
Not sure where I have the strength
But I won't complain
Long as I'm still sane

I reach out for the concrete floor
Run for the middle
Feeling so little
There I stand, under the trees
And I look up above,
Where is the love

And my tears falling down form a pool at my grounds
And I let myself go
And I scream to the world

Nerves are on fire,

It's the cry of the youth

And the voice,

it echoes a thousand times
