From the Abyss the creature crawls.
It looks around the pitch dark landscape at the bottom of the sea and starts swimming upwards.
As it rises, the creature begins to change from its formless state. It becomes transparent, and starts glowing like a jellyfish.
It rises more, entering a reef. It is now an eel, swimming upwards towards land.
The light grows brighter this close to the surface. It starts to grow a shell now.
It is on the beach now. Turtle like, it crawls slowly up the beach.
As it moves further from the beach, it's skin dries out and it's shell grows.
When it reaches a forest, the tortoise creature sheds its large shell and speeds up.
A predator chases the reptile through the woods, until it dodges into a hole.
In the hole, it starts to change dramatically, scale gradually turning into fur.
The ratlike animal runs out of the hole, easily running past the predator.
It climbs into a tree. As it escapes into the branches it starts to shift again. It's tail is now long, strong and it's eyes now have a flicker of intelligence.
The forest begins to thin out. Now the creature moves from tree to tree, standing on two legs. Its fur thins out, and its head grows large.
The creature begins to run.
The human carries on running. He runs past buildings, pyramids and temples at first, then skyscrapers in a metropolis. Then the background changes, a war. People scream and die.
The background blurs as the human runs up a hill. He starts to yell, a shout of defiance against the pain of the world.
Then a cliffside comes into the view if the human, but he only sped up. Faster. FASTER.
The human jumped.
The angel flew.
