The paradox of our times

The paradox of our times in history is that we have bigger buildings, but smaller souls; larger highways, but narrower minds.
We spend more, but we have less.
We buy more, but we have less joy.
We have bigger houses, but smaller families.
We have more accessories, but less time.
We have more functions, but less mind, more knowledge, but less judgement.
We have more experts, but more problems, more medicine, but less health.

We drink too much, we smoke too much, we spend money without thinking too much, we laugh too little, we drive too fast, we get angry too easy, we go to bed too late, we get up in the morning too tired, we read too little, we watch TV too much and we pray too rare.
We have multiplied our fortunes, but we have reduced our values.
We talk too much, we love too rare and we hate too often.
We have learned how to gain our existence, but not to make a living. We have added years to our life, but not life to our years.

We have reached the Moon, but we have problems when we have to cross the street to meet a friend or a neighbor. We have conquered the cosmic space, but not our inner space. We have done bigger things, but not better. We have conquered the atom, but not our prejudices.
We write more, but we learn less. We plan more, but we achieve less.
We have learned to hurry, but not to wait.
We have build more computers: to store more information, to produce more copies than ever before, but we communicate less.
These are the times of fast-foods and slow digestion; of quick profits and superficial relationships.
These are the times when we have two ore more incomes, but more divorces; more beautiful houses, but destroyed families.
These are the times when we have no morality, one night affairs, overweighted bodies and pills which are inducing any state, from joy to silence and death. There are times when there are too many shop windows, but nothing inside.

Remember to spend time with the persons you love, because they will not be around you forever.
Remember to talk to your kid who worships you, because that kid will grow up soon and will
walk away from you.
Remember to hug with love the one beside you, because this is the only treasure you can give from your heart and doesn't cost you anything.
Remember to say "I LOVE YOU" to your partner and to the persons you love, but say it from your heart.
Remember to hold the hands of the persons you love and cherish that moment, because someday that person will not be with you anymore.
Find time to love, find time to talk, find time to share your precious thoughts you have.
