It was a strange sensation, walking through the light. It felt as if your body was weightless for a split second.

But when Lydia and Gavin had walked through to the other side of the light, their legs felt like jello.

"You made it." Stefan smiled, wrapping his arm around Lydia.

Lydia giggled. "Yeah, here come the others." she said as Tashie, Natalie, and Marcus walked on through.

"That was weird," Tashie said, combing her hair with her fingers.

The group was no longer in a hallway inside. They had appeared in a grassy field, in what looked to be almost nighttime.

"Let's camp here," Tashie said, sitting down on the grass. "We'll continue in the morning. It's not like anyone is searching for us." she finished, yawning.

"Is it safe to sleep?" Marcus questioned.

"Of course. We've escaped. They can't look at our dreams now." Tashie confirmed.

The others agreed, and laid down on the soft grass.

"We leave at daylight," Tashie said, closing her eyes and laying down.

Gavin tried to lay down. It was as if his body was being controlled by somebody else. He couldn't move his arms or his legs or his head. He stood there, frozen. Was this part of being marked?

He looked around. Everyone had already fallen asleep. Gavin tried to open his mouth and get Lydia. "Lifffeetu," he managed to squeak. Lydia didn't move. "Lymeas," he tried again, his mouth disobeying him. Lydia didn't even open her eyes.

Gavin tried with all his strength to move his muscles and was finally able to fall to the ground.

His breaths grew uneven as he closed his eyes.
