I take the warmth From the cheek Of the fair maiden Told a bawdy rhyme.

I take the light From the eyes Of the small child Allowed to run and play.

I take the fire From the kiss Of the lovers Re-united after time.

I take the glow From the soul Of the old man Content on his final day.

Warmth and light, Fire and glow, I cast these out. Remove the snow!
