"Sarah!" Shouted Mrs Lucas.
"Yes Miss" replied Sarah
"Stella!" said Mrs Lucas again.
"Not here Miss," answered Millie, Stella's best friend
"Why would that be?" asked Mrs Lucas sternly.
"The bus crashed last night and so she's in hospital." Millie replied.
"Oh dear. I'll check that with her mother." mumbled Mrs Lucas. "How about you each bring in a present for her and we'll make her a big card and bring to the hospital for her tomorrow?" exclaimed Mrs Lucas cheerfully. The class cheered. "Now then class... What kind of things does she like?" asked Mrs Lucas. Millie waved her hand in the air frantically.
"I know! I know! She loves horses. That's all she ever talks about! So can I draw that on the card?! I draw them every day for her!" Shouted Millie.
"Yes yes all right! Now who wants to bring in some foam letters to write with." announced Mrs Lucas. And so it went on and on planning what to do for Stella.
Meanwhile at the hospital Stella was reading a book and playing to make the time pass by. Her mum was sitting talking to her but the only thing Stella had on her mind was horses. There was an old stable at the back of her garden with a field but Stella's mum still wouldn't let her. She listened to her mum for a minute and realised she was talking about letting her have horse riding lessons when she was better! She couldn't wait!
