Phrase of the day - Hick up

An email sent to me a while back referred to a "hick up" on Friday. I'm sure the sender meant hiccough, but I've come up with the following definition:

Hick up (n). A minor error typical of a provincial individual.

e.g. He made a hick-up by assuming the bus would stop if he stood at the bus-stop without signalling to the driver.

Do you have a hick-up or make one?
