I like to lie awake,
Listen to the silence,
Pierced only by the thoughts in my head,
Maybe just maybe we're content tonight.
I sink under the covers,
Blissfully dreaming
But blissfully unaware that once I close my eyes,
It will be morning
And this will all have been for nothing.
