Chapter 36
I walk out of the locker and quickly run to my spot. I'm always the last to get to any class. "Today we are playing speed again. Blue team on this side." Mr. Gerrstmi pointed to the left side of the court, then to the right side, "red on that side." I walk to the left side, I'm on the blue team. Also on the blue team are Arnold, Ellie, Selina, James, and Delia. On the red are Sindy, Liz, Sam, Ben, Trey, and Rainy. I'm glade I'm not on Rainy's team, that would be horrible. Rainy would think she's my boss and if I didn't do what she said I'd look like the bossy jerk. "Send two players up." Mr. Geerstmi instructed, I was sent up and so was Sam. The Mr. Geerstmi threw up the ball. I jumped up to hit it but I missed. Sam hit it over my head and over to Ben. Ben dropped it and kicked it to Rainy. James and Rainy were fighting over the ball when I came up behind Rainy and planed to take the ball, when Rainy jerked her arm back and her elbow collided with my face. I stumbled back. My nose hurt, so did my mouth and my brain. It felt like she hit my teeth into my nose and my nose into my brain. Rainy got the ball and kicked it away. James stayed back for a few seconds. "Are you ok?" James asked I nodded and ran after Rainy. Before I caught up to Rainy, Delia had taken the ball and raced over to red teams goal. I couldn't keep up with them, the teams went back and forth across the court deciding who got the ball. I stood there trying to keep the tears down and suck it up, my face hurt so bad. After a few seconds of standing there and blinking, I took after the ball again. Rainy had the ball and was coming towards our goal. I was heading straight towards her. She kicked the ball into the air towards Trey. I jumped up and tried to whack it with my hand, but ended up whacking it with my face. The ball landed at Rainy's feet she kicked it into her hands and was about to throw it into our goal. I tried to knock it away from her, but somehow ended up hitting her face. Mr. Geerstmi called it a "foul", even though she hit me in the face twice. After that I was just tackling people, but none of those counted as "fouls". We need a new gym teacher.
