Chapter One
An egg cracked, Somewhere, far in the forest. It cracked, just as the small creature began to feel emotions for the first time. This creature can see all that is going on, but only when an extreme event happens, only then will the creature break out off it's egg, and become a dragon.
This egg hadn't seen much, until the day when scale hunters trekked through the forest in winter, in search of scaly reptiles. They couldn't believe their luck when they found two fully grown hibernating Winta dragons, white as snow, just waiting to be captured. They took the egg's mother, and killed its slow, sleepy father in the struggle, but forgot about the egg. Apart from one girl. Ashamed her father was a Scale Hunter, she tried to look after all the young reptiles who's parents were killed. But she had never seen a dragon before. Certainly not a dragon egg. And this egg had already cracked. The dragon inside had started to poke its small, stubby, but still sharp wings out of the egg. The wings come first, then the tail, then the rest of the body, then the head. When the head comes out is when you see the dragons face, and know whether it's a boy or a girl, and what it's name is. You can almost always tell a dragons name just by looking at their face. If you have the gift, that is.
