Chapter 4
It's that woman again, the one that captured me. I can sense her behind me, petite, but oozing power and wealth. This is obviously someone who ALWAYS gets her own way. But with her is someone else, someone I don't recognise, a man. I turn round to look at him. He's small, smaller than the woman, and almost... shrivelled looking, but rodent like. Like a cross between a rat and a prune. I hate prunes. The man peers into the cage, and, 'expert' that he probably is, notices me, and realises what I am. "Oh a Moss Faerie! Delilah you shouldn't have!" 'Delilah' looks miffed, and says huffily, "What else am I meant to get my scientist brother who has everything?" Maybe she doesn't always get her way after all. "What are you going to do with it?" She asks, changing the subject, but sounding like she really isn't interested in what the answer is. "Well, first I might run a few tests..." he says. I look horrified, but of course, human that he is, he doesn't notice me. "...then I might dissect it." Dissect? DISSECT?!? I am seriously panicking by this point, and I'm about to stutter 'Y-you can't d-do that!' when another man walks in, carrying a cage with a mini giant in it, struggling to get out. Ironic really, they're barely taller than me, and they should be called dwarves, not mini giants, but they are more closely related to giant giants, so are called that. He recognises me, gives a quick bow, then starts frantically struggling again. "That one's being taken to the toy shop. We're going to sell it, and pretend it's an automaton." He chuckles merrily, as I'd it is a great joke. "But of course, we're going to have to place a wind up key in its back." At this the mini giant struggles all the more furiously, but it's futile. "Now then..." says the old man, deep in thought. "Where to send you first...?" Delilah makes a hurried escape while he isn't looking, and dashes out the door. "Hmmm.." the man ponders, then clicks his fingers. "I know! Bernard, take her to the examination room!"
