I awoke today No chains, no boundaries, Freedom embraced me With the warm light of the sun
I arose from my bed A smile graced my lips A joy spread through my veins An inner peace was found
Despite the negativity That seemed to be surrounding me I was quite content My chi was set to calm
I walked around outside My senses were awakened The sun warmed my skin As every breath was taken
The breeze blew on my face I saw a cloudless sky There was music in my ears My iPod volume set on high
'I am Free' Played in my ears Filled my heart Casts away my fears
I caught on to the lyrics Verses one by one I was singing to myself In the bright warm sun
Didn't care if anyone heard I was simply being me I was glad to be alive I was glad to be free
I became appreciative Negativity didn't enter I knew I was a free spirit And music was my center
As long as I had music Nothing could get me down The people arguing around me Would fade into...the background
Yes music is my vice It calms me to this day It gives me a sense of freedom When my emotions start to sway
I am free today I am free forever I'll boldly stare life in the eyes And never say never
