I thought I'd dare to reach for heaven, It burned my tongue and tore my skin, Then left me bare in pit and thorn, My dreams abducted my fountain dried, In a hollow shell I’m made to belong,

I dreamed that clouds could be my home, There is no ground on cotton mist, Not for mortals or tortured souls, For only Goddesses will be held, In the blissful arms of a so called God.

Queen of the Earth I am to be, I bathe my hair in dirt and dim, My blood dried up shall shield your blow, Your lightning bolt leaves me untouched, I bow to the ground that swallows me whole.

The mud chills my fiery soul, Squeeze and churn my innards with Untangled roots and broken rocks Fused to the ground I shall be. I’m real, much more than you’ll ever be.
