Mary Gillespie was the new girl at Monroe High. She found it hard to fit in with the girls in her grade.
She had short, strawberry blonde hair, grey eyes and a sweet smile, that why, she thought, no body liked her. She was a good girl, from a well known family, and would always listen to her parents. Where as the girls at Monroe were outrageous, bad girls who were to hot to handle. But when Mary was invited to Lara Graham's slumber party she jumped at the chance. Maybe now the girls would get to know her and accept her as herself, or was she just dreaming? She felt exited as she was packing for the party. Bathroom kit. Check. Pyjama's. Check. Mr. Cuddles. Check. She was ready to go.
She drove to the house at a slow pace, 40 kilometres an hour, but panicked whenever she saw another car on the road. "Why am I so lame?" she laughed at herself. Her personality was dull, lifeless and would only attracted flies. Ugh.
Finally she reached her destination, the Graham's home, huge, white and posh. Wow. "Oh, I think the maid is here! Suzy you are late!" A middle aged lady yelled at her. Did she look so bad to be mistaken as the maid? "I'm Mary, Lara's friend," she said shyly. "Oh dear lord, thought you were the maid. I'm Yolanda Graham, Lara's mother." And then she welcomed Mary in.
As she walked into Lara's room Mary felt nervous once again. Maybe she should have worn a little blush? To jazz things up a bit? "hello Lara, am I late?" She says, hoping that would be a good conversation starter. "You invited her? Why the hell?!" Cassie Mell whispered, loud enough for Mary to hear. And that's when the plan took place. You see, Lara and the others had planned to give Mary a dare. A dare to go into the Crower Mansion. In 1950, Rowena Crower had gotten married to her cousin brother, Raymond Crower-- it was an arranged marriage of course. The day he got married she killed her cousin, slit his throat and drowned him in a pool o his own blood. Then she went for her parents. She drugged them, cut them to pieces and shared the meat with her dog, Samuel. After the murders, she went back to the mansion and hung herself. It was obvious, the Mansion was haunted.
"Hey, Mary, wanna play truth and dare?" Lara asked Mary. "yea sure," "So, truth or dare?" "Dare."
