Chapter 2
Sweet. I could smell something sweet. I ignored the smell, well tried, but my nostrils refused, and filled up its empty space with the aroma of apple pie.
"It's on the house," Rita says. I knew she was attracted to me. Did I like it?
No.
Being raised by a mother who was very religious, she hates lesbians and gays. It rubbed off on me.
"Rita, no. I have no use for that number," is what I wanted to say. But then I remembered looking at her, how beautiful.
Rita, what a beautiful name.

"what else is on the house?"
"I gave you my number didn't I?" she replied.
"Hello? Rita here," my heart beer faster listening to her voice. It was the only thing that made me feel safe. Well after my dads voice but he isn't here,is he?
"hey, it's me, the girl from the diner," I say, blushing, remembering that I didn't tell her my name.
"Does the pretty lady have a name?"
"Demeter Ray, but you can call me Demi."
"whatever makes you happy. Anyways, would you like to have coffee sometime?"
"Rita, I'm not lesbian,"
"oh.."
"now I am,"
"I was never lesbian Demi, but then I saw you,"
