Since you liked the last one, I've decided to share another :-), unfortunately I don't know that many. This one I remember was told to me by my uncle when I was about 14ish. I'll try to reproduce it:

In a town far away there was an old fool, who was known to be a fool by the whole town. Recently the fool had begun proclaiming a prophecy and he said: One day all the water in this town will dry up and the only water left to drink will be from the well but if you drink from that water you will turn mad. Nobody drank from the well anyway and the people ignored the fools prophecy saying: There will always be water. However, there was one man who didn't want to turn mad, so he decided to heed the prophecy and he started hoarding and rationing his water.

And so it happened that the town did run out of water, save the water in the well and it wasn't long before the people started drinking from that well. The man who had rationed his water didn't drink from the well, since he still had lot of water stored away but he began to notice that the other people who drank from the well had begun to go insane. The man began to proclaim on the streets that the water in the well was turning people insane but the people thought he was insane and branded him the new town fool.

Alas the man now a fool grew tired and he wondered: In a town where madness is sane is sanity really madness? With that thought he went to his basement and threw out all the water he had saved and started drinking from the well, so that he too could become sane.

The End
