The world went through a period of rapid progress giving birth to great men and women, people with ideas, concepts and actions. People who tried to set the example for others to follow but as always there was also war. Retribution, hate, freedom, belief, ownership, these became the flags for many squabbles within Human society. Even as these events transpired over the years the man watched, sorrow in his heart knowing that they had forgotten. His heart gloried when he watched acts of kindness and love, when he saw positive inspiration and creativity, he felt fulfilled. So it became that the man fed once again; not on the blood of others but on the energy of the giving planet, taking into himself nature's natural radiance.
It was invigorating to see the scientific advancements Humanity had made but he was saddened to see their goals turned once again towards war. Individuals with vested interests gained from the induced suffering of others, and the Human spirit, the Human faith became subdued. It was at this time that the man saw others like him, feeding as he'd fed, on the lifeblood of all who stood in their path. With disgust and sadness heavy in his heart, he went to their midst and drove them away, saving the lives of their would be prey. The man was glad when he discovered that those who he had saved that night survived the war and became an inspiration to the next generation. Notwithstanding, he had become the enemy of a convent of others like him, who sought him at every street corner and alley way. Alas they did not find him, as his way was not theirs and so their paths did not cross.
And so he wondered the east travelling to New Zealand and it was there he met his other. As he entered the club he heard her voice cut deep in his being, singing words that resonated with his soul. In the midst of those around her, she shone like a star and he found himself compelled to approach; and she started to walk of the stage to meet him. He felt that the song was and had always been for him, he felt the age in the melody and the emotion in the words. They were held in a gaze and as he reached her, she dropped her hand and allowed the microphone to drop to the floor. He held her in an embrace and there they were like old lovers, then he reached forward an softly kissed her red lips. Although the music had stopped and all eyes were turned towards them, they were in their own world and the music still played. They both knew what they were and both had the feeling that they had known each other for a long time. That night they slept together and sated their passions, and the next day they journeyed together exploring the world with love in their hearts.
She was an orphan and she was as old as he, and like him she couldn't explain her existence nor satisfy her desires, so she turned to singing. She had observed the joys and sorrows of Humanity and desired to inspire them to love each other. And so it was that the duo toured the world, her singing and him teaching, trying to help Humanity remember what they had forgotten. Alas they saw the beginnings of yet another war and there were clandestine interests vested in the goals of this new war, seeking to bring a new order of their own design to Earth. He discovered that the coven he had faced in the past now worked with Humans, both parties working towards their own goals. The world became full of deception and misdeeds, hunger and sickness persisted and grew across the population, and the people worried about their future. Although they rose up to speak to their government the clandestine interests did not consider their plea and their agenda continued. (tbc...)
