I walked to the balcony of my apartment, watching the bustling city beneath me, while sipping a cup of coffee. My folks were going to be out of town and they had asked me to look after their house for a couple of weeks. My parents were hippies and I enjoyed spending time in their quiet and comfortable home. I jumped into the shower had a quick meal and made my way to the underground, taking the train to Stratford and then I caught a cab to my folks place. As the cab pulled up to the entrance, I spotted my weekend workshop, which used to be their garage and I felt a longing...
Night had fallen and I lost track of time working on my project. I was trying to understand a set of equations that had come to me sometime back. It had formed the basis of my hypothesis but my peers didn't accept my ideas on how it worked, even though I had made some progress in producing results. I wrenched my thoughts from the equations giving my mind a reprieve and turned to my engine, which I had completed only a couple of hours ago. I caught the sight of a shape covered in protective cloth and I walked to it with an idea forming in my mind. I uncovered the shape to reveal my folks' old hippy van and I smiled to myself. Well I'm sure they wouldn't mind, it doesn't work anyway, I thought to myself. I turned on the stereo, listening to some Marley as I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. (tbc...)
