Suddenly, I heard the woman scream, interrupting our fight. I watched stunned as I saw the old man levitating, as though he lay on an invisible bed, surrounded by a dark blue aura. "Babe! Let's get out of here!!" The woman screamed as she ran away closely followed by her partner. Suddenly the aura stretched with wispy hands and in an instant I was consumed by it and all went blank.
I woke up with a pounding head and the Sun's glare forced its way into my eyes. I sat up feeling my face for my mask, which was still on. I got up and looked around for the old man but he was nowhere to be seen and all that remained of him were his desert pants. I walked to them inspecting the partially charred pants. What just happened? I wondered as I walked away from the corner, then I noticed that neither my nunchaku nor my mace we're anywhere to be seen. I checked the power on my gloves and I noticed the circuit was badly damaged, so I removed my ad hoc stun circuit, revealing the leather gloves underneath. As I approached the main road the pounding got worse and I began to have trouble concentrating on just walking but I had to get home. I still couldn't wrap my head around what had happened and all I wanted right now was to be in my bed. I started to cross the street and the pain rang sharp, stopping me dead in my steps. I noticed on the edge of my senses that a car was approaching and without thinking I waved my hand and the car swerved wildly to the curb, causing commotion behind.
