My blood splatter face looks down at the ground.

How did we get to this point?

A time when man turns on man.

Where nothing but death will suffice.

I fight for my country.

To protect it from harm.

Standing up for what's right.

My brothers have my back.

Of this I can be sure.

Much as I have theirs.

I look across the battlefield.

Men lying motionless on the floor.

The sounds of battle all around me.

Fear fills my belly

Just for a second.

Then the adrenalin kicks in.

Limbs shaking with energy.

Mind clearing once more.

I wipe the blood from my face.

Looking around for my next kill.

I won't stop until we win.

Or until my life is lost.

But I will die proud.

For I stood for what was right.

And I will die with honor.

But for now I fight,

Standing tall until the end.

Body broken and bruised

But one day it will mend.
