I have to be the first to admit, I have strange musical tastes. I will listen to almost everything. Just this evening I purchased a single by Ed Sheeran, but most of my musical collection is somewhat more "heavy".

I will listen to almost anything, yet I only really hear music which has some sort of deep subject matter. Sounds strange as most music written, that's written not manufactured such as the drivel of things like One Direction and Justin-the twat-Bieber, has meaning.

Let's take my personal favourite choice to explain. When I was 18 I started talking to a girl in San Francisco, and she got me into Marilyn Manson. There are 2 reasons I like his music, 1) People seem to think its written to shock, when it's actually written to poke fun at the people who think this, and 2) I have always been into Rock/Metal, it's kind of what I was brought up on.

Now people are always telling me, "What do you listen to that rubbish for? Its just noise." Well I'm afraid your not listening to it correctly. The album Anti-Christ Superstar is probably one of the most well thought out, and well written albums of a generation. It's not a collection of songs, it's actually a modern day opera. It tells the story of a struggling artist, who makes it big, struggles with fame, ends up killing themselves, finding that there is no god, only a mirror image of themselves.

Yes, the music is different to things like Phantom of the Opera, and Cats, but it does the same job. After all any music which is ORIGINAL and not ripped from another bands back catalogue, and was written with heart, and thought, easily outstrips that of today's modern manufactured bullshit. Much better to write songs that will last, then to sing shit that's going to make you an idol for five fucking minutes. Justin, I'm looking at you. All you need to remember for future use are these words..."Do you want fries with that?"
