Currently studying musical theatre at college, and I'm coming to the end of my first year. Let me tell you right off, I would not change my time doing this course for the world! It has been absolutely fantastic!!! If anyone loves performing and lives nearby, I recommend going to Brooksby Melton college and choosing one of their courses, either dance, acting, or musical theatre. They are absolutely amazing!
For our end of year show we are doing We Will Rock You, a musical based entirely on the songs of Queen. Granted, I didn't get a lead part, but hey! I got lines, which is more then some of the others got. I am absolutely ecstatic to do this show! If any of you know the story line, you will know the bohemians are the rebels of society. Planning my bohemian outfit has been the best! Bright blue wig, Ashley Purdy warpaint, No Doubt T-shirt, leopard print leggings, luminous rainbow feathered tutu thing, all I need to decide on is shoes, and that's not really going to be a problem.
I have to say I am not looking forward to the costume changes. I have to go from identical to everyone else, to Ga Ga girl, to bohemian, to identical clone, to bohemian again. Bleeeehhhh. And these changes will be interrupted with having to sing backstage. Oh well. It takes effort to pull off an amazing show.
