Let's take a walk Down memory lane, Lined with berries, Bursting with colour. But be warned, They're bittersweet. Pleasant at first, They leave a taste, Of moments out of reach, Like fat salty tears.

As the path twists and turns It's all consuming. The hedgerow closes in And engulfed in berries, It's impossible to resist Just another And another. Their juice, sickly sweet, It's toxic.

Each one hits like a wave. With a great crash, The salt water washes over. As it gently trickles away Be prepared for another. Each delicious bite, Laced with poison Races through your body, Burning as it flows Through your veins.

This torture, This self-inflicted pain. You swear you'll never Walk the lane again. But just one more berry, It's hard to resist. The crippling feeling Becomes a comfort How can you refuse Such vile goodness?
