I waited patiently while the driver was on the phone with Luke. I was fidgeting in my seat, constantly glancing behind. Lucky for us, the perv, too, was talking on the phone. Probably plotting their next move or there was maybe a change in orders.
On the other hand, the driver and Luke were most probably exchanging advice and instructions. "I think I might lure the mad man near the closest police station, please note down the address sir" suggested he, the driver. "in the mean time, alert them, the good ol' policemen, about this and wait in your car one block away for any further actions that may be required. " he continued. "sounds like a plan!" chirped Luke over the phone. I loved that guys optimism. ...........
I wake up in the hospital bed as the world around begins to come into focus. I could hear the soothing melody of love birds in the distant. Beams of light were peaking through the heavy, dull curtains. There was a pleasant smell of flowers filling the room. However, i could sense the seriousness in the air.
Turning my head to get a better glimpse of the room, I realized I was sharing rooms with someone who was fast asleep. The old man's expressions were still and peaceful.
Justin was faced towards the doctor. I couldn't quite hear them, though. Just some abrupt nods and hand gestures that would occasionally point towards me. Recollecting the past day's events was difficult, so I waited for my turn to have a chat with Justin, like a fat kid waiting for food: impatient.
With a final nod and a glance at me, the doctor left. Justin finally came over to break in the news. I looked deep into those eyes. They were staring right back at me, full of concern and love. I didn't need to ask, he understood what I wanted. I wanted the answers. I wanted this to end. I wanted to be with him.
