For Those Who Lie Beneath

Have you ever visited a crematory?
Where they bury the dead of war?
The graves look so small all lined up in rows on the floor

The graves they all look exactly the same
Most of them don't say a name
The bodies were so disfigured that no relative could lay a claim

Have you ever stood there and just thought what it would be like?
To be out there on the battlefield in the mud and the blood of a fight?

The guns must have been firing
As loud as thunder in your ears
The sound must of been deafening
Mixed in with your comrades cheers

So next time when you watch tv
Or eat your breakfast or your tea
Just stop and think what if that had been me?
