Potter awoke at my uncontrollable laughing fit as did Melissa. She shrieked with breathless laughter which might possibly have tipped him off that something wasn't right.

'What?'

I couldn't reply from laughing so I pointed him downstairs (I made sure to remove the mirror in his dorm the night before.

I shook Remus and Peter awake, rasping out their names and pointing at James then relapsing into fits of giggles. They opened their eyes and promptly burst into laughter.

'Right guys? What the fuck is so funny?' James sounded rather pissed off.

I managed to quell my laughter long enough to tell him to come downstairs with me, by this point I felt tears rolling down my cheeks. So much more rewarding than Bellatrix.

As we entered the common room (it was full, we had missed breakfast) it exploded with the thunderous sound of mirth. I shoved him in front of a mirror and watched, grinning, as he stared in horror at his reflection.

'What. The. Fuck. Have. They. Done?!' he screamed.

I can't blame him. His beard wasn't quite as long as Dumbledore but it made up for it in colour. Yes.

James Potter had a great, long, ginger (dip dyed green) beard.

And he didn't even suspect me.

I began to run after him back to his dorm but Melissa intercepted me, apparently she'd followed us down to witness his priceless reaction.

'Hey, Lils, I know he likes you but he's pretty mad. I think he might bite even your head off.'

'Who cares? It was a success.' I squealed in excitement. I was enjoying being a rebel.

'Hey Jody, Trish.' I called. They walked towards us with massive grins on their faces.

'Did you see-'

'Yes.' I grinned back.

'We do have many talents don't we Lily?' said Melissa in a fake snooty voice.

'And it just so happens that pranking is our newest.' I added, matching her tone.

'No way.' laughed Jody.

'Yes way' insisted Liss.

'Anyway Jody, what did you do with Sirius?' asked Melissa, pretending to be joking but I could tell she really cared about the answer.

'Oh Liss, you know I wouldn't right? He disappeared with that Sylvia after ten minutes.

'Lissy babes, you know he doesn't actually like that cow?' I put in quickly,

'Umm, yeah, of course.' she wasn't even trying to hide the fact she didn't believe me.

'Liss, did you see him squirm, the way she was clinging to him like a limpet at the Ball?'

'Who did what?' I turned to see Sirius behind us. I was a little more reserved around him today, I wasn't drunk now, but I just couldn't be bothered to hold a grudge against him.

'You missed James's reaction to a little mischief Lily and I cooked up.'

'What did you do?'

'Oh you'll find out.' she grinned.

Hmmmm, did I imagine that his gaze lingered on her smile a little longer than he needed to? I highly doubted it.

Once he walked away Trish raised her eyebrows,

'So, who isn't interested in our Liss?'

It took Melissa a second to get what she was on about but then she squealed,

'Really? Sirius Black? No way.'

'Yes way.'

A crash sounded from the boys dorms.

'Oh, erm, Lils, I think we better go clean up our mess.'

'Okay then Liss. It was worth it though. Soooooo worth it.'

I stood in the doorway looking at three very scared looking boys dodging the furniture a very mad looking boy was throwing at them.

'Potter, I know how to reverse it. Just calm down. It was a joke. You of all people should know how to take a joke.'

Okay yes, adding that but on the end was risky but he stopped and turned around.

'Okay Evans. Please get it done quick though. This is embarrassing.'

'Potter, I'm pretty sure that's the point.'

He replied with a withering glare.

'And I thought I was the one who needed to lighten up.' I muttered to Melissa.

'Come with?' I asked then saw his expression, 'Or not.'

It only took fifteen minutes in the dungeons to brew up the antidote. To be honest, Potter should be able to do it himself, what with him being a star student and all.

I filled a flask with the bright blue potion and returned to the common room with it. I chucked the flask in Potter's general direction and he caught it with ease. He was Gryffindor's star seeker fir a reason.

He gulped it down in one and his beard instantly began to retract.

'Thanks Lily.'

Yes. He called me Lily. Well I guess there's a first tune for everything.

'Any time. James.'

He looked so happy. Just the fact that I'd used his name. His smile made my stomach feel funny. I couldn't ignore it any longer.

I'd fallen for Hogwarts greatest idiot.

Just my luck.
