A week before the winter solstice,

A fire cracking merrily in the hearth and a hot chocolate in hand, she sat on the sofa. A Christmas movie was playing on the flat screen, technical TV. The Christmas tree was beautifully lit in the corner of this little holiday log cabin. I sipped my luxurious hot chocolate, the sweet, hot mixture warmed me up and a sighed with satisfaction. I was out here alone for a while as I have had an argument with my family. Only something stupid, but I will guess that it won't last long. I stood up and grabbed my fur coat ready to go outside in the bitter cold and collect some very needed fire wood. As I stepped on the glittering, white snow a crunch came and I left footsteps behind me. I grabbed the axe and went to the outside of the enchanting, mystical forest where some decent wood was screaming to be cut.

I could see my breath in this cold winter night. I looked up towards the endless sky to see it was covered in little stars that winked at me every so often. The moon was shining like a huge diamond as I smiled happily to see how beautiful the world is.

I started chopping some of the wood, breathing heavily as it tired me. All of a sudden a heard a sudden crunch come from in the forest behind me. I looked alarmingly into the forest but all I could see was horrifying darkness. I felt a wash of anxiety and unknowing swish through my petite body. I looked back at the house to make sure no one had gone inside, I saw my reflection in the gleaming windows. My dirty blonde hair was tied up in a ponytail and my green as were weary. I glanced properly and I saw behind me. What is that?

Then it came after me. It was running and panting, a ginormous beast. I screamed at the top of my lungs but I knew no one would hear me, I'm helpless. It pounded on top of me and my body smacked to the floor. A pain shot through my back and I could feel a cut on my head. I looked to the floor to see a pool of rich red blood. I gasped suddenly and put my hand to my head. The beast suddenly got hold of my foot and dragged me into the forest. I was kicking and screaming, desperately trying to get free. And then I saw those the beasts eyes. They were black, no emotion showed within them. It snarled deeply, I let out a cry. The beast then charged at me, and I could slowly feel my life slipping away and I couldn't grasp back onto it.
