"Lilliana?" Said detective Winslow as he strode confidently towards me. I looked towards him as if I acknowledged his call. "Mr Matthews will take you home." The detective said as he motioned for the thirty year old man to one forward and accompany me. "Thank you." I said to both of them. "Let's got then." Me Matthews said placing his arm around my hips to support my shaking body. "I need to grab my things." I said as I went to turn back to the beach. Cops, and forensics were everywhere. "You can't Lily, it's part of the scene." He said soothingly. "Ok." I answered and followed to his car. It was a white range rover, a beautiful car. A beast in fact with gorgeous chrome wheels. If I hadn't had such a horrible day I would have taken more time to appreciate such a masterpiece. Me Matthews started up the engine making it roar like a lion. We drove of into the distance and sat in silence the whole way.
We rounded the corner coming into view of my lit up house. It was a decent sized detached house that was being lived in by just me and my mother. When growing up my mother, Caroline didn't want me seeing my father, I don't know why though, she never mentioned it and I didn't want to bring the conversation up. "Thank you." I said giving him a forced smile. "How is your mum doing?" He asked kindly. But how did he know my mum? "How do you know my mum?" I asked my eyebrows raising up. "I'll walk you to the door. And I think that question is for your mum to answer." He said sliding out the car. I slipped out of the warm interior of the car and lead Mr Matthews up the stone steps. My mother swung open the door and took me into a tight motherly embrace. "Lily I've been so worried! What's happened-" she paused in mid sentence and looked up at Mr Matthews. "Thank you." she said and then hurried me inside. I told what happened to my mum, she sat there listening in shock. I burst into tears again and cuddled close into my mother. Her golden brown hair was tied back in a grip, keeping it out of her fresh face. Her eyes looked down at me protectively shining with an intense blue, just like my eyes. My mother took me upstairs and put me to bed as if I was five again. Usually I wouldn't have excepted this, but I needed some normality in this frightful day. Caroline stories my head gently until I fell into a sleep, but obviously expecting some unwanted nightmares.
