Tell you how much I love you
I wish I could
Tell you how much I need you
How much my heart brakes
At every stepping stone I take
And I know you can't be there
I wish I remembered more of life before your death
Have I blocked out the memories with the pain?
Or is this just one of life's many ways?
I wish others understood
That a mother is not just for your childhood
But for every stepping stone you take
For every smile or heartbreak
And I wish others understood
That a mother has needs too
And I wish words could explain
How much I miss you every day.
