Writing is freedom. Films and games have classifications that restrict viewing ages.

When, I was posting "Big Dick" I did wonder if the content should be classified like a 15A or something but writing doesn't have these boundaries. I know people who read Steven King novels or Clockwork Orange as a kid and they've not turned into a rapist or a serial killer. The books have no age classification but the movies based on them do.

I like that there is no restrictions but I can see the point of them on games and movies to help parents make more informed choice about suitable content. Personally, I've been moved more by things I've read as they connect with me on a personal level - I've cried so much reading Jacqueline Wilson (a children's author) as her stories get inside you and you feel with her characters. Therefore, can reading be more dangerous?

Where people have stood in Court and blamed their crimes on horror movies you don't ever hear of books being blamed. So, maybe stories are safe?

What is your view on this?
