My husband's best mate just showed him a video of a dog getting excited by his mum (owner) returning home after serving in the army. He passed my husband his mobile to watch it on.
The dog starts whining because it's so happy to be reunited. Grace heard it first. She was up alert and ran over trying to get on his lap (which she never does). We replayed the clip to see if that's what had triggered her reaction and soon Evie joined in too.
Our cats flocked to him. Climbing up him. Rubbing him. Meowing and head bobbing. It was so cute. Like they were trying reassure him it was okay and they love him too. Like they understood what the dog was saying. Between them they circled him, climbing on his lap and round his shoulders.
When the clip ended they calmed down but as soon as it started up again and got to the dog bit, they both chimed in, their ears went up and they started all over again.
We all welled up. It was seriously cute. Xxx
