Drift - A Paranormal Romance aimed at young adults. The first novel in the Merallo series that I've written.
Lily is a coming of age paranormal romance based in a small seaside town in Suffolk. Outwardly, Lily would appear to be an average teenage girl except her best friend is a boy; she has wild red curly hair and silver eyes. Not many people know that silver eyes are a tell tale sign of a mermaid. However, Lily Turner is no ordinary mermaid; she is a merallo, a blood born mermaid.
Lily Turner was devastated when her forever best friend Jace moved away from next door to the other side of town but she never could have imagined how much that change was about to affect her life. Distance certainly does make the heart grow fonder. Together with the regular changes every teenager experiences Lily is about to discover she is a merallo with storm summoning powers. With her new found power comes a 'ship' load of trouble.
I've written the above novel in full and edited it hundreds of times. I'm currently looking for an agent or publisher. Just curious, especially if you are my target market, whether it sounds like something you'd be interested in reading. In the meantime, I am working on the sequel 'Wipe-out', where things get even more complicated and intense.
