The urban jungle was over flowing with people. The traffic was congested in the road and people spilled out of doors onto the over crowded pavements.

I pushed my way along to the newsagent to pick up a paper and hopefully find a job.

My heart caught in my throat. I saw Mark. It was only a second but then the face changed and it was a complete stranger, as if the features had morphed before my eyes. It was just my imagination but a shiver ran up my spine.

I pushed open the door to the news agents. There was a chiller and I thought I'd grab a coke as a reward for venturing out. When i opened the door to take a can, the glass frosted over and there in the reflection was Mark's face clear as day. I blinked. It didn't go away. I looked over my shoulder but I was pretty much alone except for an elderly couple pottering about.

"Can you see that?". I ask the old woman, catching her I. "Can you see him?!"

I pointed at the door. Mark grinned back on the verge of laughing.

The woman tutted and turned to a man of similar age to herself, "Damn crack heads!"

The old man grumbled, "Come on Pearl.".

He threw me a disgusted look. They couldn't see his smirking face. They thought I was high. I checked again and it was gone, the glass was clear again.

The break up, the move, maybe it was too much stress. Things would get better once I get my life back on track. I was here to start a new without dark trouble.

I headed to the till with my drink and paper.

The cashier eyed me suspiciously as she charged me for my purchase. Obviously, she'd heard my little crazy scene.

I stated at the paper to avoid the judgemental looks. I then saw an advert for Madame Destiny. The woman claimed to be a psychic and medium. She could predict the future, find missing objects and liaise with loved ones that have passed on.

I had never believed in that sort of mumbo jumbo but that box of crap made me feel uncomfortable. It wasn't exactly her line of work but I wondered if she could help me identify who the owner was so I could get rid of it.
