I decided to update my music library with some new tunes but I'm terrible at remembering names.
"What's that song about 'ricochetting bullets'?" I ask. "It's sung by a women with a powerful voice maybe Rihanna, Alexandra Burke or Jessie J"
"It's on the radio, currently in the charts - quite a fast song"
My husband tries various songs to figure out who it could be, even working his way through the Kiss.fm playlist.
He found lots of songs I liked: Katy Perry - Part of me Kelly Clarkson - Stronger Jessie J - Domino Rihanna - Bulletproof
Eventually he started questioning if I was making the song up but in a nice jokey way that didn't mock me. He continued searching and considering male artists and then he told me he knew.
"It better not be this one? If it is, I can't believe you didn't know who it is!". I start getting really nervous and beg him to tell me who but he just shakes his head and types it into YouTube.
David Guetta feat. Sia - Titanium
As the song filled the room and the lyrics warped around me, I welled up. This was my song the one I'd been hoping he'd find for me.
He wiped the tears from my cheeks and told me Sia is the singer who sang "My Love" the song he wanted for our first dance.
Today is our anniversary (not our wedding one - that's in June) and I felt overwhelmed with love. I needed him to hold me whilst the sensation shook me and I cried, happy tears.
I love him so much but this song is mine, it's personal. I love how he understood how important it was to me without me saying and how dedicated he was to finding it for me despite not knowing the reason why.
