28 April 2012
Task: Write a short story (2,000 to 5,000 words) on "The Sea". Any genre.
Entries must be entirely your own work and never previously published or broadcast, online or offline. They take plagiarism very seriously. You should submit each entry, typed in double-spaced on A4 paper with page numbers. Also, include a handwritten version of your story. However, the handwritten version is not obligatory but does account for 10% of the scoring.
Deadline: 31 December 2012 - this is a postal competition so allow time for this!
I am thinking of entering this competition. Originally, I thought about submitting a section from my novel Drift but I've posted versions online so it won't be eligible. I have got a background story of one my characters that I've never written that involves the sea so I think I'll write that and send it in. I never win but if I never try then I'm not doing anything about pursuing my dream and you never know, one day it might be my turn - blessings of being a dreamer with a strong imagination. Anyway, the details are below if you fancy writing a short story on "The Sea".
