Lined in rows from 5th street to Main, Feet scrape the pavement and fidget in vain, Glimmering colors that cut through the snow, Come in, be seated, you're in for a show.
Bellowing trumpets and thundering drums, All shapes and versions and sizes and forms. Caught in a breeze of a cold winter night, Enter our world of awe and delight.
Swiling of fabric, gleaming of smiles, Waltz down the street in all colors and styles. Shimmering dress, caught by the moon, Charming even to the lovers of June.
Danced in a haze they oil through the snow, Brilliantly lit in opalescet glow. In horses of ashen, with eyes made of stars, Dream-like reflections in windows and cars.
The twinkle of laughter, the beat to their song, They spur in a costume, 'cause what could go wrong? Silent seducers, in grace and in charm, Come here, little closer, we bid you no harm.
Magical beings, they twirl and they dance, Rythmical laughter, look stock at first glance But open your eyes, you're in for a sight, What lies beyond the carnival's light?
